Girls Girls Girls

I thought I would have years before I had to deal with Robbie having girls on his mind. Apparently it isn’t just cursing and reeling out the “I hate you” stinger that he’s brought into his repertoire at an insanely early age.

That’s my son. Advanced on so many levels.

I was blindsided by this news when his sitter asked “So who’s this girlfriend he’s talking about all day?” and my response was a very intelligent “uh…?”

Way to be on the ball, mom.

When I asked Robbie who indeed was this girlfriend, he blushed a bright red, dropped his chin and mumbled “Janie*”. And I swear he fluttered his eyelashes. Then he added “We’re getting married.”

At dinner that night, I conversationally mentioned to Toby that his son had a girlfriend. More eyelash batting and guilty grinning from the man-boy along with the restatement of “We’re getting married.”

“Does she know this?” Toby asked.

“She told me.” Robbie replied.

“Tell her you’re keeping your options open.” I suggested.

“Careful…” Toby warned me under his breath.

I can’t help it. He’s still my baby…and no preschool hussy is going to be able to treat him better I want him to stay that for at least a few more years.

*names have been changed to shield the innocent.

    OH. MY. GOSH. !!!!
That is too freaking cute!! However, I’d be worrying about those little hussies, too! Oh my gosh, Holly – – if the girls are after him already, is it only going to get worse? You totally gave birth to the future Prom King!

Uh – do you think maybe he’s related to his Uncle Shannon?! Shannon was into girls way too early. Hopefully it’s just a phase and Robbie will get over it quickly.

Fortunately, Anthony doesn’t seem to have that gene. At the age of 11 he still thinks girls make great friends – but that’s it. I hope it stays that way for a while longer. Maybe the fact that Anthony is a bit immature for his age keeps the “boy crazy” girls away from him. Kaylee on the other hand will keep us on our toes for sure. She’s always talking about what boy at school has a crush on her.

What little hussies!!! lol My nephew has “girlfriend” shoes, cause he is sure if he got a certain pair of shoes his girlfriend would like them when he got one, and yes, he is only 4 1/2. I got upset if a teacher expected me to hold a boys hand in elementary cause I was sure they stank and they would make my hands stink. Kids are funny. Robbie sounds like such a fun kid and a kid that will always keep you on your toes…. 😉 He also sounds like he’s gonna be a heartbreaker….

You guys are funny. I’m not so sure I can see him as Prom King so much as the guy pulling all the practical jokes at prom… like spiking the punch or hoisting the big bucket of pigs’ blood up over the stage.
Robbie also likes the older ladies. He’s in love with all the various teen babysitters…one especially. He just hasn’t figured out how to get one to agree to marry him.
