Family

Outside of school, I have a full and busy life. My husband and I married in 2002, and we have two children together. We love traveling and, most recently, we took our kids to Australia in the summer of 2016.

Work

Since 2006, I’ve been a self-employed small business owner. I collaborate with other small businesses, helping them reach their audiences with design and marketing communications. I design a lot of literature, websites, logos, catalogs, etc. Increasingly, I also provide all their copywriting for packaging design, brochures, and even blog and magazine articles.

Hobbies

As my husband will be the first to tell you, I have many hobbies. Almost all of them are creative in nature and they sometimes turn into business ventures. I owned a photography business for several years and later a soapmaking business. School takes up most of my spare hobby time these days, but we still make time to ski and camp.

Travel

I love to travel, both domestically and internationally. I’m lucky enough to have traveled to several countries including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Australia, The Netherlands, Canada, Mexico, and Jamaica. Our next planned trip is England and France in 2017.

Volunteering

Most of my volunteer efforts draw on my professional skills. Each year I donate design or photography services to projects like food drives, local political initiatives, school charities, and other non-profit organizations.
